    New String

I have an 07 Guardian that I believe needs a new string.

Last year when I shot it always shot low compared to the year before, making me believe my string stretched. I didn't bow hunt too much last year so didn't bother with it. Want to replace it soon.

What can I expect to pay for a decent string and installation? Most likely will go to Archery Country but wanted to get a ballpark price so there is no sticker shock.

depends on the string/cable lengths and the string manufactor. For example winner's choice is going to be the most expensive. For my bow they are over $100.

Vapor Trail strings are going to be $70 for my bow. Just as good and costs about $30 less MSRP. I have a connection with VaporTrail so pay a little less than that. You can check MSRP from vapor trail's web site. If you want me to try to get them a little cheaper for you PM the details and I'll see what I can do.

In my opinion, Vapor Trail is the way to go right now! Go with the VTX material, virtually no break in period. Maybe a couple (2or 3) shots. Excellent service

Vapor Trail makes a great string, however the current Bowtech strings are just as good if not better. This is just repeating what my pro shop guy told me when I ordered a new set last week.

I'm not nearly as impressed with Vapor Trails strings as some of the others that have posted, but the new Backbone strings by Bowtech are as good if not better than any string I've installed over the past 11 years in my shop.
          I charge $120 installed.

I have had the backbone string and cables that rocky mentioned on my bow and i previously had winners choice and the backbone string has lasted twice as long as the winners choice and still going strong

Thanks for the info.......I plan on replacing mine after this season. Backbone sounds like a good choice.

How often are yall replacing your strings? I dont' have any visible signs of wear and initially thought it was stretching due to me shooting lower last year. Now I'm thinking it was just a form issue.

I'm not an expert, but they can put a few twists back in the string. if it is in good shape (no sign of wearing), it most likely may not need to be replaced. Soem people replace stings right after buying a bow to upgrade to higher quality strings, some people dont change strings for several years, or until signs of wearing which ever comes first. I don't recommend changing it just becasue you think it stretched a bit.

                        Just my humble opinion.

I'd check this before I bought new strings

Have to pass on Viking, He's held in pretty low regard on TBH and when that many people have had issues not worth my time and money to be another statistic. Good to hear you had a decent experience
