    String Stop distance from string

i know this will open up for some buckets of popcorn to come out, but i've seen everything from the stopper needs to by firmly pressing against the strings, to a credit card width distance away, to a full 1/2 inch in front of the string at rest. What have yall had the best luck with??
Specs=2009 Hoyt Turbohawk 60#/27.5", string stop will be a Limbsaver Decelerator.

I have tried everything on my bow but it always makes a slapping noise. I think I am going to have to get an afermarket one or a new bow. Good luck

A piece of mole skin on mine cut down on the noise a bit.

agree credit card, 1/2" is just a waste.
