New bow hunter and new Martin bow.

Joined this site last year to get info on Balcones NWR but wasnt bow hunting yet. Decided to start this year and picked up a great deal on a new bow at Academy. I got a Martin Cheetah fully rigged on clearance for $229.00. Anybody else on here have one? Did some searching onlne and they get good reviews. My son has a Diamond Razor Edge and got his first kill (a ram) this summer at camp. We are both looking forward to trying to take our first deer with our bows this season.

Were you able to shoot it before you buy it?

I'm asking because Academy has just put an indoor range in and I was looking at the same bow.

Yeah, Martin makes a decent bow. That's a heck of a price on a full rig. Good luck and enjoy!

No, I didnt get to shoot it first. The Academy I bought it from doesnt have a range, or even an archery department for that matter. Took it to another nearby store and they tuned and set it up for me. Shoots very nice.

Curious where you scored the deal on the bow at? Looking for my first bow and love that price.

Saw your new post right after I sent mine. Will have to check the Academy stores near me.

It was at the academy in Port Arthur. I went in to buy a cast net, and walked out with the bow.
