    D-Loop or off the string?

    Fellow TBH'ers,

I am currently shooting off a D-loop and was wondering about removing it. I figure that I could extend my draw almost a full inch and pick up some arrow speed.

My current configuration is a Bowtech Guardian, 65# draw and a 27.5" draw length. Current arrow speed averages 279.

Or if y'all think my speed is fine, please say so. I am fairly new to Bow Hunting.

    Cheers!

Removing the string won't change the draw length of the bow, only changes the draw length in reference to your anchor point. Unless you plan on changing the actual draw length of the bow by changing cams or if it's adjustable draw.

IMO, the speed is fine. Can you increase the weight of the bow? What arrows are you shooting?

if u remove th d-loop then ur draw on the bow will get shorter. as in anchor point and u will definately notice any changes in ur draw.

Keep the D loop. If you want more speed... Buy a new bow!

Speed thrills, but quiet accuracy kills--and yes, I'm not a speed freak by any count. I like a quiet stable bow that I don't have to sky-up and strain to draw smoothly when "he" walks into the shooting lane.

Your weight and speed are fine--just make sure your broadheads are shaving sharp and put 'em where they live. Happy blood trails!!

With a loop, you know your release will always be in the same place and not slide, especially on letting you bow down if you don't take the shot.

Keep it on there, and turn up the poundage if you want an increase

I would stay with what you have. You are shooting more speed than I am and I am a converted speed freak. You will have to increase the draw length on your bow if you take off the loop and the difference in speed is not going to be noticeable to anything except a chrono.
