    Release Technique Question

I shoot a Carter Quickie 1+ with a buckle strap and last time out I noticed I seemed to be straining and gripping the strap with my hand. I tried to consciously relax my hand except for the trigger finger to squeeze off the shot and noticed that some of my shakiness holding on target went away.

Is this something I've been doing wrong all along that I discovered the correct way by accident?

ive heard that you need to relax the release hand and let the wrist strap hold it on to you instead of you holding on to it.

red--that is what I stumbled onto while shooting Friday. I shot some more today and tried to keep all my non-trigger fingers totally away from the strap, letting my wrist-arm carry the load. Seems to be helping.

I have caught myself doing that with my thumb. It is better to hold the weight using the wrist strap. Putting pressure on the release would be like putting too much face pressure on the string, and it certainly can effect your shot.

Yup relax the hand, index finger should touch the trigger, then hand should stay in the same place and release should hang from your wrist.... or be stuck between wrist strap and trigger finger.

Other hand (on grip) should stay as relatively still as possible too and bow should held up by tension on sling not a tight grip on the grip.
