I saw a show last night and it was comparing mechanical broadheads, first of all I have never shot these mechanicals before so I am just going on what I saw on TV. I'm pretty sure some of you guys saw the show, well it was comparing the swhacker and many other mechanical including the rage, and out of all the test the swhacker outperformed them all, what made be a believer was the quartering away shot that was simulated with plywood. Other test were done on a steel drum and ballistic gel, and the swhacker still came out on top. I guess you guys and gals need to see the show and make up your own minds.

I personaly use the NAP mechaniclas because I never had any problems with them and are fairly inexpensive, I'm not here to diss any broadhead, as a matter of fact I am going to get both the swhacker and the rage and try them out for myself. Right now the swhacker is on sale at Academy for $19.99 for a three pack. Anytime I can find a good deal on a broadhaed i pretty much jump on it.

I've used both of the broadheads you have mentioned and they are both very good. I think it is a matter of preference but the schwackers are a great contender in the mechanical broadhead market.
This deer was taken with a schwacker and it was not a pass through. Deer only ran 50 yards before expiring.Last edited by JBH1979; 05-10-2011, 02:41 PM.

Most that have not used the Swacker "think" that the entrance hole is not going to be very big. I have used these heads before they were ever called the "Swacker" and they will cut a lot larger entrance hole than 99% of people think and the exit hole is very impressive also. I have also used the Rage and if I had to make a choice based on my experiences, I would use the Swacker over the Rage and have also used Slick Tricks and would choose the Swacker over the tricks, but once again this is just my personal experiences and opinions. All 3 are excellent heads, when put in the right spot as any broadhead is.

Destry, I was not personally calling you out in my statement. Most that have not used this head think the because of the design that the entry hole will not be big, but even if the blades do not open the entry cut is 1", just slightly less than a Slick Trick at 1 1/8" and I would imagine that without finding the deer that almost any head that he used would have resulted in the same scenario. I have had shots that did not hit where I wanted and eneded up with lost animals and those have been with COC, mechanical and fixed blade heads. Finding animals with good blood trails all depends on shot placement.
