    BH flight

Got a question for the fellars of the green screen. I am having the darndest time BH tunning my bow. A little background of my equip....z7 70#@28" draw shooting eastion axis n-fused 400's (27" arrow) with a 100g grizz trick. Originally, the BH tipped arrows were hitting 4" low as compared to my field points. I have raised my rest, probably 1/8" trying to get it right. I got the elevation fixed but it started to hit a smidge to the right of where I was aiming, and i fixed this by backing my #age off 1/4 turn. Even after all this, I still have inconsistency in my BH flight. When i shoot a BH tipped arrow, I can see my arrow drop, almost like a curveball. I am getting about 2" of inconsistency with my shots. My question is, is it time to move to a slick trick standard to get better consistency? Do ya'll have the curveball effect when shooting BH's? Am I being too picky? Thanks beforehand!

Javi is more than likely dead on, I know you dont want to hear that, I tried my 400's till I puked, bought 340 FMJ, DONE! U dont have to go FMJ route, but 340 I aam sure, by the way the 400 spine flew great out of my Z7 at 70 lbs, 29 inch draw, with field points, but no go with BH. Hope this helps!

Rocky, I am shooting flex fletch ffp 360 vanes. They have enough helical on them for my arrows and yours probably :P and i had the pros look at it at the shop and they said all is well. Thanks for the info.

I appreciate the offer but I'm up in salt lake right now workin, and wont be home till the 15th.

The spine needs to be heavier

that^^^^I was experiencing the same thing with some 125gr bhs on a 340 spined arrow...put 100gr on them and whala...pretty near to my field tips...
it sounds like the bh is too heavy for the spine on your arrows...stiffer spine is prolly the fix...

What vanes are you using? I switched to 4 inch vanes and it helped my weak arrows. It saved me from having to buy arrows until my 400's are gone.

Add helical and make sure they are spin tested. I found one the other day that was wobbley and it was consistently all over the place.

I'm tuning good with 28" draw at 67lbs with 340 fmj's cut to 29". Should solve your problem. Check out the spine chart on huntersfriend. I think it's more accurate than the easton spine chart.
