Waiting on a set of 28" mods that should be in today. New set of H&M cables and string that might be in next week. My shoulder still hurts from last weekend, the 28" mods may help that.

One of my cohorts came over last Sunday (TexasGrown), brought his chrono too. If I remember correct, between my 2006 Bear Instinct and the 2010 Elite Judge I picked up @40 FPS. TG had a true IBO arrow and I was around 305fps with the Judge. I've never thought much about arrow speed, then I considered increasing arrow penetration vs. the hogs that had stolen my arrows in the past.

        Raxorback,

congrats on the new bow. i just bought the same one, black riser with camo limbs couple months ago and already have a fallow buck kill on mine. super fast bow. get a pair of those monkey tail string dampeners and it will make your bow super quiet.

Mike is a good guy and string builder...that's where I order all of mine from...and at a great price!

The IBO arrow was actually 7 grains on the heavy side. And clocked it at 284 with a 407 gr arrow , Mind you this bow is set some where around 63-64lbs. I didn't have my digi draw scale with me but it is very close to mine in draw weight .

Razor, don't wear your self out having fun with it . I doubt you'll have any more hogs run off with your arrows .

The new mods came in yesterday and I had-em changed pretty quick. The alaignment holes seemed to be in the correct position (.10 under the limb), brace was a correct 6". Put it on the draw board and cam -time was close enough that I didn't need to adjust. Shot it a couple of time and all seems perfect. I'll shoot more today to get the rest and dloop tuned.

Elite tech support told me a Judge at 70#, 29" and 350 grain arrow should shoot 327 fps off a bare string for what it's worth. If you ship it to them they'll set up free- great customer service and support.

Mine us 475 grain and is around 260 with loop and heavy Verifier peep. I'm not tweaking for speed now, the shop owner said if I leave it there he all play with cables if I want. I LOVE the valley on the bow.

If you get the Elite quiver I'll show you how to stop it from spinning when putting on/off

That is one of the reasons I wanted an Elite. I heard a lot about Mathews, Hoyt, Bowtech, etc. Some good, some bad. I never seen a bad word about Elite- yes there may be some out there that dislike. Same for broadheads, some like Rage/some hate, I haven't seen anything bad on Slick-Trick, they are on my arrows, just no personel test to date.

Hey folks, bringing this back up the the top. After a new set of H&M cables/string I got into some serious tuning. After changing the 452X, adjusting the timing/brace, getting the peep, loop and kisser sewn back in and modules back to 28.5"- it's shooting bullet holes. At least the bullet holes I wanted swapping from a Bear. The bow shoots better than I can. I also switched to three blazers to clear the QAD rest, hope that will work for 100gn Slick-Tricks.

I tuned it via walk-back, the last adjustment was raising the QAD just a slight bit. Next D-loop I may drop the rest back down a tad and lower the d-loop.

Anyone want to buy a used Bear Instinct?
