    Dw question?

Right now I am pulling 60 pounds with my diamond razor edge and it's not to hard to pull back. The razor edge is not a very smooth bow so if I were to shoot smooth bow then would I be able to pull back more? If so how much more?

I think so but it really depends on you. I shoot 72 pounds because my draw length isn't long so I get more speed. I can comfortably pull it back though. I say just pull what is comfortable.

There is no reason to draw 70 plus pounds. I draw 62-64 the longer your bow is maxed out the harder it is on it and more things go wrong with it(less life span). Plus the more pounds and longer the draw you have to completely change arrows type ,spine,etc..that all puts strain on ur bow and the shooter. The perfect ideal, is in the mid 60s.

Have not shot 70# in about 8 years, I have no need to. But that doesn't mean you dont need more. If you need more speed or KE then bump it up. If you dont, might as well make it as easy to shoot as possible.

Only yhing I have noticed about a 70#er is I have to pull harder to get my bloody arrow out of the dirt

So if I were to get a smoother bow would it feel the same pulling 65lbs as pulling 60 with my current bow?

I've heard the opposite, if you have limbs in the 60-70lb range, your bow will shoot better, be more accurate with the limbs closer to the max, in other words, 65-70lbs...I've got my limbs turned down to apprx. 65lbs... but, I agreee with the "you don't need to be pullin' 70lbs" to kill anything"...there's a reason they make 40lb draw weights available in huntin' bows....

              Sam,
If you find a "smoother" pulling bow, it will just feel easier to draw it back. The weight will be the same just not as hard toget over the hump, so to speak. Holding weight will probably be the same unless you are set at 65% vs 80% let off. I would look at how much I can shoot before I start "feeling it" in my back muscles/rhomboids. This would tell me how well those muscles are developing and gauge from there.

Ram6256 got it right on the head. The weight will be the same but smoother thought the let off. The razor edge is a double cam bow and singles are naturally smoother with a less aggressive cam and a wheel at the top. However, singles loose in the speed competition compared to their double cam cousins. With 55# of KE, you can kill anything in the continental US.

Go to a bow shop and shot a few bow and try it out a 2 cam bow like yours is harder to pull back.
