I just shot from a loop for the first time tonight. So far I like it.

I saw a metal D-loop at ****'s store the other day. It actually clamps tp the string, and would make it easier to attach the release.
Has anyone tried this, or is it too risky to damage the string?

Harder on serving, and harder to adjust, heavier.

I dont mind shooting off the string with a 33" or longer bow but shorter bows I use a loop due to string pinch!

And also potentially louder and more dangerous if it flys off?

I have only ever shot with a string loop, they help with reducing string torque and save you serving!

My buddy's all shoot loops, I don't care for them. Does not conform to the Keep It Simple principle. Just something else to fail when you don't need it to.

True, but it will move your anchor point towards your ear with the same release. Too long a draw length is the single biggest issue affecting form and accuracy.

But once you adjust for that (change anchor, new release or shorten draw length of bow) it's the way to go,

Negative #2 is if you spot and stalk or night hunt, clipping your release on can cost you seconds before you can draw.
