Buddy of mine bought one from A/T and it was done. He is now sending his 2 others to be done by crackers. Plus you get the little mouse sticker! haha

If you send your bow to Cracker, and he tunes it, whatever it costs, when your string stretches, or serving wears, or possibly your rest accidently gets moved, it will have to be re-tuned.
Do you send it back to Crackers?.

Good question. My buddy has not run into any problems yet. Not saying that cracker's work is flawless or anything but you know what I am saying.

After having discussions with some of the guys on this forum, there's no less than 10 guys on here that I'd trust with my bow.
Bows are bows, and specs are specs, and there is no magic or magician.

I was wondering the same thing a couple of years ago. The best advice I received was "learn to tune the bow yourself". Its a bit intimidating at first, but you will get more comfortable with it. Find a good tuning DVD and ask questions on this forum and archerytalk. Like the above post states, what are you gonna do when you have to change rests, strings, or limbs? Pay to be tuned again? Save the money and buy a bow press with it and go from there. Just my 2 cents.

P.S. I have heard nothing but good things about crackers and his work

Learn to do it yourself, it is not rocket science, a lot cleaner than working on a truck and very satisfying.

I called once its 40 dollars just to get your bow tuned then shipping but if you use your own string he dosnt guarantee it. But its 120 for a set of string and tune and if it every falls out of tune its guaranteed.

Learn to do it on your own. It is a PITA but its worth it. What would happen if lord forbid something went wrong with your bow during season? Are you gonna set out a week. Miss the buck of a lifetime so you can take it in to the shop? Not me. Im gonna jump in the backyard fix it and go hunt that weekend. I'm thinking of buying my own press for that reason.

This season one of my string leaches moved. Not sure how but it did. While I was drawing it, the leach rolled up on the cam and the string came off. I called my bow shop and finally talked the guy to letting me come to the shop while it was closed (thursday night late) so I could make it out for weekend hunt. If I had my own press it wouldnt have been an issue.

What would happen if thursday night you noticed your bow somehow went awol and went out of whack. What would you do?

A bow is in tune or not. There is no super tune, and putting feather weight stings with less strand count on my bow to get speed up is not my idea of promoting good bow health and longevity. He is a salesman that is good at selling a gimmick. Learn to tune your bow for you.

many years ago I had one done and it was awesome. At this point I know how to do many of the things he does to tune minus building a string.

I can have a great string built closer and without a long waiting list. I think over the years there are a number of guys locally that are just as good.

the only thing I recall he does thats unique is that if the bow is a bowtech he has boxes of limbs and will make sure the deflection will match on whatever bowtech you send.

Is it worth it . . . . . yes. Can you do the same thing with someone in Texas and its just as good . . . . yes.
