    Kinetic Energy

What is everyone getting out of their set-ups? Please specify arrow type, arrow length, arrow weight, draw length, and speed.

Is there a "target" KE that one should be shooting for? (pardon the pun)

Just want to get some comparisons.

    Thanks.

Dont know what my KE is but I shoot GT Velocity XT 400 @ 28", 394gr, 28" draw, shooting 310fps. I keep my arrows light and fast because out here in AZ our White tail are small and you have to regularly take shots 50-70yrds. I want my arrows flying flat and fast. For elk, I will probably switch to Axis or FMJ 340s cause the shots are shorter.

KE's Largely a measure of the bow's performance (notice the high draw weight & long DL bows are pumping out the highest KE) - you can tweak it a little with arrow weight, but you won't see much more than a couple ftlbs swing. My compound setup's around 74ft/lbs - Elite Z28, 460gr arrow around 275fps.

                            Small Sized Game - 25 ft-lbs
Medium Sized Game (Deer, antelope, etc.) - 25-40 ft-lbs
Large Sized Game (Elk, Moose, Black Bear) - 50-65 ft-lbs
Dangerous/Tough Game (Cape Buffalo, Grizzly, etc.) - 65 ft-lbs and above

I think this is what you are looking for
