    QAD or Tripwire?

I want to go with a fall away rest because I shoot a lot and my hostage is already wearing out. Been looking at the QAD and Tripwire. Can't really find any bad reviews of either, and the tripwire is a little cheaper. Anyone used both and have some input? I'm not sure I care about the containment bar on the QAD, so that is not a factor for me. The tripwire has a deep channel and that's all the containment I'll need. I'm smooth on the draw and not shooting upside down.

I read something about if you manually cock the tripwire you don't have to use the cord. If that's the case, what causes it to fire, and what keeps it from firing on a slow let down? Does the QAD work the same way?

Also read that before you tie in the cord you have to press the bow. Is that because you stick the cord between strands to properly serve it in? Not a big deal, just curious.

Adrenaline, I cant be happier with a rest than the QAD
the Ultra rest pro camo is what i have had on my G5 primal

Yes it will manually cock so as to lock in the arrow and will not fire on a slow let down. i am not the engineer so cant explain how it works but it does and its accurate, Put atleast 1000 shots probably more without fail.

Had my bow set up by the pro shop where i bought it, figured its installation was better served by pros. These are a little investment do your research and see them at the shops. Lots of great choices out there

QAD for sure, you can't go wrong. Don't try to go a different direction just to save a few bucks.

Here is what i found on the QAD website

Q: Does the Timing Cord have to be attached to the bows downward buss cable in order for the Ultra-Rest to drop away properly?

A: Yes! The Timing Cord must be attached to the bows downward buss cable. For adjustability purposes, we recommend using the Cable Clamp. (see above Ultra-Rest installation instructions) The Ultra-Rest is NOT inertia activated. If the Timing Cord is not attached, the arrow fletching will make contact with the launcher and activate the Safety Break Away feature. The launcher will appear to drop away, but upon closer inspection you will notice fletching contact on the launcher.

There is more info there on the tech support area

Ok I fixed the contact issue. I am a retard. I was reading reviews and one of them said something along the lines of

"I have bad fletching contact on the rest. I switched it to cock feather up and it still was having contact"

Thanks to that, I assumed cock feather down. Switched to cock feather up and it's shooting sweet. Someone on the range even told me it was the quietest bow he's ever heard. X-coil, Limbsaver limb dampeners, cat whiskers, and QAD rest. Need to put some padding on the shelf to see if that quiets it even more.

Couldn't be happier with the rest. I got the ld model. It shoots amazing.

On another note...I was asking the guy installing it if they allowed broadheads on the range for broadhead tuning, and he tried to tell me that after they install the rest and level/center it, never to touch it, and just rezero my sight when I'm hunting with broadheads. Guess he really didn't know what he was doing. I paper tuned it to bullet holes, walkback tuned it, and I guess I'll broadhead tune it at home sometime this week.
