    To Hell with Mech's

ok. i've posted a bunch about Rage and how i switched to Grim Reapers, but i decided that all mech's suck. so I want to go to either Magnus stingers or Slick Tricks. If I goto Tricks which one do yall like. I really like Magnus Stingers Buzzcut but I couldnt get them to fly well out of my Xforce Axe 7. Are Tricks accurate? What do yall think?

ANY of the Slick Trick line will do you right.

I have slick trick magnums. I haven't gone hunting with them yet, but they have the same POI as my field points. You can also switch them to the normal tricks just by replacing the blades.

All broadheads are good if placed in the right spot, mechanical, COC or fixed. Most do not do well on a poorly placed shot, but you do have to find a head that your are confident with. Slick Tricks are good heads and small enough to fly well out of most bows that are tuned well.

I use Slick Trick Mags for deer and Magnus Stingers for hogs, both shoot well out of both bows. The key is making sure your bow is precisely tuned or nothing will fly right.

This! Some people are quick to blame BH's on a bad shot. A well placed shot from a stone arrowhead will kill a deer.

Although my favorite is the 125 gr. Slick Trick Mag I shot the 100 gr. Rage 40KE with excellent results on my last trip to Texas. Like has been said they all work well when shot from a properly tuned bow and shot placement is where it's supposed to be.

Ok, You guys are all right about shot placement. However my family owns a fair sized ranch in south Texas and we have been MLD for a long time. That said i shoot about 30+/- deer a year for our program. I get to test alot of broadheads and what Mudslinger said about confedence is the truth. I started in Oct with 4 packs of Rage 2 blade 100 grains and have none now due to the fact they were all ruined after one run thru on a deer. I also had a failure to open on a very nice Pope and young buck but thank god I recovered the animal with a tracking dog. The shot was tight and i thought a field point would have done the job but not the case. In my frustration I went to Grim Reapers and totaly bought into them. I bought the last 3 packs at bass pro last week and shot 9 does this weekend with them. Not impressed at all with them. all but 2 are damaged and are not functional. So thats why im want to go to a fixed blade. Sorry for my venting but these deer mean the world to me and the last thing I want to do is not give them a clean death. Thanks for everybodys intel its much appreciated.

Sounds like the mech broadheads did their job on 20 out of 21 deer (7 packs at 3 each) and you are disgruntled with them because you cannot reuse them?
