    Time for new arows

I currently shoot FMJ's (400 10.2 grains p.i.) and I'm thinking of going to something a little faster. I was thinking about either Carbon Express Maxima Hunters (8.9 grains p.i.) or Gold Tip Pro Hunters- camo ( 8.6 grains p.i.) Any idea /opinions on either of these? I shoot 27 inches/ 62#. thanks

The GT proHunters are nice, but I have not noticed any difference worth the additional money vs the XT Hunters. I guess those that shoot long distance may. I have not noticed any differences up to 50 yds. Yes, I have shot both. I have not shot the maximas. One thing you might notice is there may be more noise at the shot, with the reduced weight. I noticed it when I dropped from xx75's to the 5575. A compromise I came up with was my Blackhawk uses the ST Epic at 340-9.8 and the Raptor gets the GT 5575. I do shoot 28 inch arrows.

If you want really fast get you some Easton DOA Flatlines.....7.4 gr per inch and tough. 342 grains at 306 FPS.

I've had three passthroughs and they were found in rocky terrain with no damage.

I agree with the above on the Pro Hunter versus the XT Hunters if you go that route.

If your looking for speed, I agree with Smart on the easton flatline's. Super fast and very tough." They are what the say they are" Flat shooting arrows!

Just picked up some of the DOA's and they screeeeeeeeem. I was shooting the Beaman mfx 340 @ 10.3 gpi and the DOA's are much faster flatter shooting with no noticable noise. I can't wait to see what they will do in the deer blind next year.

By the way DOA's are $50.00 a dozen cheaper than Carbon Express Maxima. And in some cases you can find some websites that are selling them really cheap now that seasons are coming to an end.
