    Arrow Selection

I need some opinions to help me decide on new arrows for next year. To some it may seem alittle to soon to think about it but, I've got one weekend left for buck hunting and then MLD doe permits till the end of Feb. What i would like to do is select an arrow now for next year and test them on the 30 or so doe that need to be harvested on our ranch. I shoot a PSE X-Force AXE 7 @ 67lbs with a 30" draw. I'm shooting CX Mayhem's cut at 29" weighing in at about 462 grains total. I shot though a chrono last week and came in at 303ft per second. I'm getting a ton of KE so much I think I could go lighter. My problem is like most long arm guys is im stuck with the heaviest arrows due to the spine. Any ideas?

Why go lighter? You have a lot of KE and possibly a high momentum factor, but if you go lighter your momentum will drop. Momentum is the ability of the arrow to penetrate. I went just the opposite, 150 grains heavier and still have more KE than i started and way more momentum. It will also make your bow quieter with a heavier arrow.

I want to cover both ends of the spectrum. I have some Victory V-Force HVs which are fast arrows with a 300 spine, and they fly quite well. They actually hit pretty doggone hard too. I've had complete pass throughs on deer and dang the arrows get there quickly.

I want to get some really heavy arrows too just to see what the other side of the street looks like. I want to get some CX Piledriver Hunters with a 300 spine (450s) and see how they fly.

Here is an idea, more speed and spine is perfect with the hunting option turned on for your bow and setup. Victory makes some very good shafts. I have used the HV for several years and they are the strongest speed shaft I have found.

What about Easton Flatline DOA? They are very light and have decent KE.

It is a software program for Archery called On Target II by Pinwheel. Comes in very handy when dealing with all these new X-Cam bows

Speed doesn't kill ... quiet kills!!! I hunt with the CX Maxima 3-d Select arrows in the 350 weight class... Awesome flight with the weight forward shafts, plenty of spine, and heavy enough to keep all the KE you want. they are weighing in around 461.25g (not to be too exact). Keeps the bow quiet, passes through anything i'v shot at including a 250lb hog.
