    Measuring Axel to Axel

What is the correct way to measure Axel to Axel on a bow... from were to were?

    #2
Hook tape measure over one axle, then measure to the other axle.
(Easier than trying to go center to center)

Trying to center the axle is the best way to get the true axle to axle. The suggestion aboe will get you close. The axle to axle may be off depending on the poundage put on the limbs and actual draw length setting.

It is rare for a bow's A2A measurement to be exact when poundage and daw-length are correct.
All measurements on any bow will be approximate.

If you do this and measure to the closest edge of the other axle that will be your center-to-center distance. For instance, it you lay the bow in your lap, hook the tape measure on the left edge of the left axle, then measure to the left edge of the right hand axle, that will be your center-to-center distance.
