    Need Help: CETME

I bought a CETME Sporter 308 earlier this year and I love it so far. I’m looking to put a scope on it and worry a little about the claw type mount that it recommends slipping. Does anyone have this rifle and had experience with this issue? Any insights are appreciated…

I have access to one at work, but don't know much about it. Ok, so now I am subscribed to this thread

I have the same rifle, they are a blast to shoot! If you get the low profile style rail mount that has a threaded hole through the top of it, run a machine screw through the mount into the hole in front of the iron sight on your reciever (You may have to drill and tap a bigger hole to match the hole in your reviever). The screw should only need to go into the receiver about 1 thread or less, just enough to stop the mount from sliding. use loctite on all of the screws on the mount and cycle by hand several times to ensure there is no intorfirance. I have not put any optics on mine yet but a buddy has the H&K 93 and it worked fine for him. Good luck and Merry Christmas

Thanks for the info proudtexan. I love shooting the CETME and haven't had any issues with it so far. I've put about 100 rounds through it so far. Not one jam!
