Well about a year ago I got some extra money for Christamas and decided I needed a new bow string for my old Reflex. I guess I was still out of it from too much eggnog because I decided not to buy a new string but to build my own! I sat around and drew up some plans for a string jig, good lord have you ever priced a string jig, and took them to my local metal shop. They welded up my plans and picked it up a few days later. Fast forward to last month. My jig is still sitting in the corner of the room and my bow still needs a new string. It's about that time of year again so I finally order some 425x string material and get to work. First my jig design isn't perfect. I didn't do to bad since I had never seen a string jig in person before but I discovered that lower posts were too thick and the pins on top should not be in the center if I use such large lower posts. Quick trip to Lowe's and I got it worked out. Took my 2 tries to get a shootable set of stirings but I did get it done! Have about 300 or so shots on this string and zero peep rotation so far.

Awesome!
Those look sharp! I just started my first set for my Bowtech Constitution, after making a couple practice strings. I'm using the Jurassic Jig on Superstrut and a tensioner that I made, to get the strings to 300 pounds before I twist and serve. For material, I'm using Brownell Fast Flight Plus in Bronze and Hunter Green for my first few string sets. I'm wanting to try Brownell Astroflight, as soon as I get about a dozen strings under my belt.
