    Arrow Manufactures

I have been shooting my original set of arrows i bought with the bow in 2005. I am an avid shooter during deer season, target and hunting. I guess I have just been lucky with not losing/damaging them after a kill or missing a target. I was shooting

    BOW: PSE Xcellerator 70# 29"

Original ARROWS: 27-15/16" PSE Carbon Force Dominator 300 w/ 100 grain tips.

I couldn't find the original arrows I was shooting, so I went with REDHEAD Carbon Fury 6075. They seem to not shoot as flat as my PSE arrows. They drop about 4 more inches at 35 yards. I'm guessing they are heavier. Any recommendations on what I should of went with. I would hate to have to re-sight my bow because my arrows are dropping, this thing has been on the money for years and still is with my old arrows.

The PSE arrow weighs 7.8 gpi and the redhead weighs 10.6 gpi.Your new arrow is close to 80 grains heavier so you will shoot low. Also if the shaft sizes are not the same diameter that will cause you to be off also. The Easton Flatliner in 340 shaft is 8.2 gpi that would get you within 10 or 12 grains of your old arrow.

I took one of my old PSE arrows up to bass pro and should it to one of the guys in the bow section. He told me the REDHEADS would work fine. I guess he knew just as much as I did. I think I'm going to go to real bow shops from now on.

You have a couple of issues to consider. Not just weight is important but spine is too, I would say as important if not more.

You also mentioned you would hate to resight it in which makes me wonder if you have changed your string since you bought your bow? (Typically you need to make minor adjustments afterwards) If not for your safety I would get it checked or changed.

Okay.. Thanks for the feedback guys. I went to West Houston Archery and bought some Carbon Express Maxima 350. I guess I will use my REDHEADS on the squirls and armadillos when I get board in the stand. Thanks again.

You will get better arrow flight from a better quality arrow, the cheap arrows don't group as well for me.

Arrows are a lot like bows as well. If you ask you will get lots of opinions on what arrows to shoot. I like Gold Tips and hate Easton Axis. Others I know are the opposite. Just shoot what works for you. I used to buy them by the 1/2 doz. and see what I liked. For me personally, I can't seem to beat Gold Tip GT hunters for the price and the way they shoot.

If you are shooting 70 pounds it is too light. You need to be at least 5 grains per pound of draw weight.

The Redhead Carbon Supreme Lites would have been the ones which are more closer to your GPI's of the arrow you previously shot. I bought the Redhead Carbon Supreme Lite's as they were considerably lighter than the Redhead Carbon Fury's. They are around $30 more per dozen too. The Redhead carbon furys are a very good entry level arrow that fly quite nicely but as you have experienced, they are heavy.
