    Arrow weight/speed question

I bought some Goldtip 7595 XT Hunters cut at 29.5 inches. With no bh's they weigh around 300 grains. My current arrows are the Carbon Express Rebel Hunter Weight Forwards that weigh around 510 gr with 100 grain bh. I'm shooting a Monster set at 68lbs and I'm getting 307-308 fps with that setup. How much speed would I gain by using the Goldtips seeing that I'm giving up 110 grs? Would this much decrease in arrow weight make my bow louder? It's pretty darn quiet with the 510 gr arrows.

Yes it will be noiser and you will look at a speed gain of around 20 to 22 fps. With the set up you had before, I personally would stick with it. Over 300 fps with over a 500 grain arrow is smoking and it will have everything you need. i went from 410 grains at 314 to 560 grains at 270 and will not go back. Too much noise reduction, forgiveness and accuracy (at least for me) and penetration out the wazoo! I am definitley a converted speed freak after seeing the difference in those 2 set ups I had.

      500gr + 300fps = Good!! I'd stick with that too.

        As Mudslinger and Nitro1970 said,
Shooting a 500 grain arrow @ 300+ fps is awesome.
Shooting 110grains lighter would increase your speed approx. 20-25 fps. but...I personally wouldn't make that change.

I will say it again, you have a set up that a lot of people would pay big to have. With that arrow weight and speed, you are cranking out some big #'s in KE and momentum and could hunt probably anything you would want. I think you would be defeating your lack of bow noise and shootability by going lighter on your arrows.
