    Practicing with broadheads ?

Ok guys if you shoot a BH into a target five it six times do you hunt with that BH or do you use a new one that hasnt been shot ?

Sometimes I'll sharpen it and use it. Most of the time I have a "target" broadhead in my accessory box just for broadhead tuning.

I mark 'em with a red sharpie and use them for practice only.

Thanks Tubby.. Just bought some slick tricks and it was the last pack so I only have three. Guess Ill just shoot one and save the other two for hunting.

Usually just replace the blades right before the season starts. I don't shoot BHs after the season starts unless it is real.

Just shot 6 times and I'm hitting 3 inches to the right at 20 yrds.

Overspine add a crank to each limb and I'd bet the broadheads move to the right.

Also micro adjust the rest to the left. Try adding poundage first.

shoot into targets all you want, for fixed blade just sharpen, for mechanical replace blades and go hunt!

They are shooting 3-4 inches to the right already I can see the arrow curving to the right in flight. This is my first bow and I am new to bow hunting so I'm not sure what I need to do to get it dead on with the BH.

Link to the Easton Tuning Guide.

If your BHs are hitting to the right of your FP group you have a weak spine and need to decrese poundage.

what does "overspine" mean, and why would adding a crank to each limb change accuracy? just curious, never heard of this...

If your arrows are "overspined" the arrow is generally too stiff and will probably hit to the left of where your field points hit. Increasing poundage will move it to the right.

If your arrow is "underspined" the arrow is not stiff enough and will hit to the right of the field points. Decreasing poundage will move it to the left.

The lenght of the arrow, the spine of the arrow, broadhead weight, and other factors can affect this.

This is assuming that your centershot is right, but that is the first thing I check. That will save you a lot of headaches.

Page 11 of the Easton Tuning Guide has a good illustration of this.

Thanks grizzman. Wont lowring the poundage also change my up and down point of impact ?
