Shot a few bows today....

I have been shooting Mathews Bows for about 7 years now, but I think I am about to change!

Shot the z7, z7 Extreme, and the BowTec Destroyer 350.

Wow, was that Destroyer awesome. Quiet, great feel at full draw, solid 'backwall' and no vibration on the shot.

That is one fine machine, and I may just have to change my allegiance!

what were the advantages and disadvantages of the z7 extreme

z7 extreme is very short A2A... only 28 inches, so great from a treestand or some of the smaller ground blinds. A bit slower than the the z7 and the 350.

I'm 6'2 and I prefer a longer bow, but the brace height is a little longer than the z7 and 350, so it should be a little more forgiving. All good bows, just a feel thing for me!

was the draw fairly smooth on the z7 extreme? i know the destroyer has the slightest bump when drawing

draw was similar on z7 and the z7 extreme. seems like the valley is a little wider on both of them as compared to the 350.

I kinda like that little bump on the Destroyer. Sort of memory point.

Kgredraider shoot the 340 and tell me what you think. I thought it was smoother then the 350 and you are not giving up much speed then adding an inch of brace height.

I went with a friend a few weeks ago and he was going to buy a Z7, after we shot a few different bows he walked out with a destroyer.... Really nice bow, not nice enough to give up the Judge but it was nice, I liked the destroyer over the Z7 myself...

Does the Z7 extreme feel good in your hand as short as the ATA is?

Does the Z7 extreme feel good in your hand as short as the ATA is?

It felt a little clunky to me.... it's hard to explain but it so short and the limbs are so flat that is just different. I am used to shooting a 35 in axle to axle LX and anything below 32 feels odd.

Even though it is short, it has kind of a bigger feel due to the limb design.

I shot a few today myself. For me it came down to two: Destroyer 350 or Elite Pulse. Both awesome bows but for me the Elite was better.

I can't wait to get to shoot that Pulse... I am supposed to meet up with wassaw the week after Thanksgiving to shoot it as well as the rest of their lineup... I have a feeling it is going to be an expensive shooting session

No doubt! I'm still trying to come up with a scheme to get one without getting kicked out of my own house

Im really looking foward to shooting the Z9, I know its kind of geared more for those with a longer draw length but with a 8 3/4 inch brace hieght I should shoot great.

I shot them both as well and ordered a Pulse a week ago ...I thought both destroyers had a slightly harsher draw. Sweet bows nonetheless but the 60lb Pulse was my choice. Supposed to be here in two weeks....
