Try a search on "broadhead" I think you will find more than enough info.

About a thousand people will tell you "A sharp one" or "one in the right spot" or "the one you have confidence in" BARF. I wish I would never read those words again. Bar none best broadhead on the planet, Phat Head by Steelforce. WT, Hog, turkey.... You name it, its killed it.

Magnus stingers. Shot two deer and three hogs already this year and havent had to track any of them more than fifty yards.

              Whatever.

This is like asking which bow, truck, camo, or toilet paper is preferred; you'll get lots of opinions. Starting out with a fixed blade would be my suggestion (Muzzy, Slick Trick, etc.) What is key is to get your bow tuned properly so a good broadhead will fly very close to what your field points will do. If that's not possible, for whatever reason, tune to the broadhead you chose and then practice before you hunt an animal. This will help you avoid disappointment.

There are so many good broadheads on the market today that I believe it's hard to make a bad choice. Like most discussions I think it comes down to preference....Chevy / Ford, Dr. Pepper / Coke.....Dr. Pepper wins hands down BTW!

For me, Magnus Stinger Buzzcuts, Slick Trick Magnums, and G5 Montecs are GTG!

Any broadhead is going to be the "best" if put in the right spot on an animal. Your bow is going to have to be tuned properly to get the best performance from any head and no matter how good the head is, if the shot is bad, results are usually not good. You have a wide choice, fixed blade, COC, mechanical and mechanical/COC/fixed crosses. All have the pluses and minuses. Get your bow tuned well and choose any head you want, but make sure you shoot it to make sure it flies well out of your set up and make sure you are confident in the head and your equipment.

Seeing all the info you received on the broadheads wait til you ask the bow question. Good luck on that one........

You should try the Trophy Taker Shuttle T. It's not vented, doesn't whistle at 30 to 40 yards and is extremely consistent. Muzzy MX-3 is cheap and great for shooting pigs.

I have shot tons of great broadheads, lots of good ones.

That said, I will never buy another brand other than SlickTrick! (as long as quality stayes the same).

Reasons: I am confident that there is no way IT can fail, Sharpest out of the box I have found.......everything else is acheivable with any tuned bow.

I shoot Muzzy 100 3 blades and NAP Hellrazor's. Not because I listened to all of the hype and personal opionions from this forum, but because of a few things. They are reliable, proven, sharp, and one more important reason is price. My personal recommendation when buying a broadhead is you don't have to spend a lot to get a lot. Any name brand broadhead is sharp and of good quality. But the key is practicing with your broadheads to ensure you can make a good kill shot consistently. GOOD LUCK and DON'T BELIEV THE HYPE!!!!!!!!!

I've tried several types over the past few months. The ones that work best for me are Shuttle T. They fly the best. I know a few people that have recently started using them. Try a few and see what you like best.
