    FOBs

I'm new to this bow hunting thing, but loving it. I saw the website/videos for the FOBs ("Fletching Only Better"). Those seem pretty cool.
Anyone use those or have any experience with them?
I've messed up a vane on a couple of my arrows and the FOBs seem like a real painless way to get the arrows flying again.

They work great. They stabilize the arrow very quickly and fly great. Like you, I switched to them after shooting at squirrels in the backyard and tearing up vanes on the ground. They require a drop away arrow rest, which require proper timing for clearance. I sold my other bow and since my new-to-me bow has a crappy curvy shelf, I couldn't use them. So, I sold them to another TBH'r. If you get some, practice but don't shoot at the same spot or you'll ruin them.

FOB's work as advertised, and they are not worthless, just my opinion. Most that blast this type of fletching have never tried them and have no idea how well they do work. I have shot them for a few years and will not go back to fletching. In tests, they control BH's better than feathers or vanes in wind, especially cross winds. They are easy to use and to put on. The are ugly on an arrow compared to other fletching, need a drop away that needs to be properly set up for timing and clearance and it will affect some on their anchor point. Some have not like them because they contact their face when they anchor. I have had none of these problems and love them. They work as advertised and it has been proven in independent tests. I hate to fletch and refletch and it is a pin to get a carbon arrow completely clean of the wrap and glue to refletch. This is gone with FOB's. Try them, but just make sure you have your rest set up right. For any help, just contact the guys at www.starrflight.com and they will help.

They work well! I shot them a little last year, and exclusively this year. I am shooting them with mechanicals, so can't really say much for how well they steer a fixed blade. It is pretty neat to watch them pop off when you have a pass through. The only down side is that you may lose some of them if you are walking through some thick stuff in the dark. I lost one last weekend, but fortunately, it was on the way out.

I've shot them for about 4 months, and just bought a 2nd "roll" from Starflight.
I like them, and I think they are a neat alternative to refletching. Oddly, I just bought a set of arrows with Blazer vanes, and my point of impact is the exact same on both types of fletching.
I like that I can shoot FOB's in practice and then take my Blazers with me into the field.

A negative - You can't shoot groups, or you will break a FOB almost every time.

I got some and they work great-I shoot Blazers also. Makes an arrow like a torpedo.

I realy like them. If you brake one " shooting groups it will happen " just pop it off and put a new one on.
