    Store smell on calls etc.

I just bought me a grunt call and a rattle bag from gander mt today, figured id give calling a shot since ive never done it before. The stuff i bought has that store smell to it so my question is what is the best way to go about getting rid of the smell? i use the scent away stuff on my clothes, detergent and spray but what about on calls and my rattle bag? i assume i can just throw the bag in the wash but then what with the wooden dowels? any help is much appreciated!

You can leave the call outside for a couple of days to get rid of the smell. I usually spray the rattle bag w/ peroxide, but it stays in my pack most of the time anyway.

i think your over thinking it. rattle away bro, if you play the wind right and they come from the right direction they're not gonna care what the rattle bag smells like.

Your right, this is my first season to bow hunt so I'm probably a little over peranoid on some stuff. Thanks for the advice to both of you

If they smell the store scent on your calls, believe me, they have already smelled you long ago. Hunt the wind because if you don't, they will smell you way more tahn not.
