    Whats Wrong???

Ok I got a new bow about 4 weeks ago. It is a 2010 Bear Strike. 72#, 27". When I bought this bow it came with a whisker biskuit. I was shooting 2 inch groups at 20 yards in about an hour. I recently got a QAD drop away rest hunter. It shoots a lot faster but the only problem is i can see my arrow kick to the right everytime i shoot. I noticed that my fletchings are very close to my cable slide. I do not know if the fletchings are catching my cable slide or what. I know im not torquing the bow cause i shoot with an open hand. What should i do about this? Any ideas would help. Thanks alot. Cameron

You need to adjust your centershot most likely. If you know someone with a laser alignment tool it will dial it in. Also make sure your knocking point is correct and you should see a drastic improvement.

The only other thing I can think of is underspined arrow.

You need to adjust your rest left or right until you find center.
Shoot an arrow thru paper and it should only show the 3 rips from the fletchings when centered.
When it kicks it'll show a bigger rip to one side or the other.
You need to adjust your rest on the opposite side of the rip.
Big rip to the left,,, move rest to the right until the rip is centered on the fletchings.
      And vise versa.

Make sure you don't tilt it forward or back when doing this, it could cause the same issue in the vertical alignment. If this happens. Noch an arrow and hold your rest in the upright position. The arrow should be level When holding your bow straight up and down.
90 degree angle from string to arrow.

      Hope I could help.

I had it set up at Gander Mountain in Lubbock. They lowed my knocking point to dead center. even though this is happening im still shooting 3 inch groups at 30 and 40 yards. I am wanting to start shooting FOBs but if my fletchings are hitting i know the FOBs certainly will.

Take it to Lubbock Indoor Archery and let them tune it. doubtful if anyone at Gander right now knows much about setting up a bow. never seen any of their employees with a bow, at least the ones in the Archery Dept and every time I am in there, there is someone different working there.

Shooting with an open hand doesn't mean you're not torquing.
The tension applied to the hand to maintain an 'open' grip is just as bad as a death-grip on the bow. Relax your hand.
You only gained 2-3 fps by changing from the WB.
              Get the bow tuned.

Nock your arrow and lock your rest up, line the string with back of your hand if you see any of the arrow move the rest left or right until the string and handle and arrow are aligned. That is a very good starting point.

their pricing will not be cheap, but neither is Gander's. but they know what they are doing at Lubbock indoor. Ask for Jeff and tell them Doug said HI!

I have tried this already. it looks like i have about a 1/4 of an inch clerance between the fletchings and the cable.

You using blazers? Was the cord served in your down cable or they use that crappy clamp? Not real sure if you cable rod is straight on that bow or has a bend? If has a bend look at the bend sould be bout 2 O'clock from riser.

Some bows have slide bars that have a bend just as they come out of riser then straight back where the slide is and some are completely straight. Did you notice and clearance issues with WB?
