if set up correctly, it doesn't matter, but make sure that ur vanes will clear your cables

As far as I know on all drop aways the cock vane should be pointing up or up and slightly canted like Randy"s at 1:00

            ^^^ exactly

If set up correctly and there is no "bounce back" the rest will be out of the way by the time the fletchings reach the area of the rest.

Some concern will be the fletchings hitting the riser on some set-ups, if that's an issue, nock with odd fletching out (9 o'clock for RH shooter).

won't putting your odd vane at 9 make your right vane, now pointing down, rub the rest?

Thats my issue w/ the gt500.. Riser is so thin that you have to shoot it in the 9:00 or 1:00 position (same thing really) to clear it.

My vanes are at 1:00, 4:00 and about 8:00 and I have no clearance issues.

They recommend straight up I shoot some up some down as poorly as I shoot I can't tell a difference

has anyone else here noticed fletching contact with the string on bowtech bows? Specifically the general? I was, so i put my cock vane at 9 o'clock and the other two vanes at 1ish and 5ish and it seems to be shooting ok now.

I've had QAD rest on 4 bows and it doesn't shoot any different up or down. Excellent clearance.
