Ameristep Doghouse Blind??

Anyone use one of these blinds? Academy has them for $50. I want an easy to setup cheap blind for a backup.

I only have a 27.5" draw and it was not wide enough for me to draw my bow. I would look for something else.

I have a doghouse I can draw my 29 dl bow. Or mybe its the outhouse. One of them is big enough and cheap and easy to set up. I am pretty sure it is a dogouse though.

I bought one and set it up this weekend. Real easy to set up and not to bad for being cheap. Didn't have a chance to shot the bow out of it though.

It could have been the outhouse I had, but I am not sure. I had to stick the arrow out of the window to come to full draw. I made sure to sit in my new one before I bought it.

Honestly I am not sure either. One is big enough and one isn't even close. Both are about the same price.

I have the outhouse blind and I can't draw a bow in it, it's good for rifle hunting. Thanks for the input.

I've been wondering about this blind also. For $49.99 it might be worth a shot. I have a $10 coupon from Academy anyway, that would make it $39.99 ;-). I will keep ya'll posted.

I have had the dog house for a few years now. The set up is quick and the back pack is nice for carrying into the NF. However the width is to small to shoot my bow out of when set up normally. So, I set it up diagonally and unsip the facing corners a little ways and it works fine. Good luck.

I have to put the point of the arrow through window to draw mine and I pull 29". Basspro has a make that is 66"x66" and is the same coil design. That will be my next purchase.

I had one, and couldn't stand it. Personally, I will never own another steel spring frame pop up. I like the hub design much better. They are a lot more sturdy.

i agree with buffalorider, the disc-style blinds have a very small section of shoot through mesh which takes a lot of movement to see through the 2 or 3 windows you leave open. Moving in your ground blind is never good. spend some more money on a hub, you can get base models for 100-130. they are also easier to set up

I have one and can draw just fine at 28.5" DL...however, I do agree the shooting windows are too low and small...I usually shoot out of the regular windows. My next purchase will be a hub design as well
