How to make the bow drop?

I am right-handed and my grip is open with my fingers pointing straight at the target. When I release the arrow the bow kicks up instead of dropping down. Why is the bow kicking up? How can I make the drop down instead of kicking up?

are you hittin what you are aiming at when it kicks up? Most of the time gravity will do it's thing .

How do you grip the bow? Low? Medium? High? A high grip - where the meaty part of your palm is not touching is more likely to make the bow fall forward, but that is not a goal in itself. If you are shooting good groups and your grip is consistent, I say leave it alone.

This would be my thought (ie guess) as well. I've noticed that my bow doesn't want to fall forward after the shot either. As a matter of fact when I begin to draw, my bow automatically tips upward causing me to either draw with my pulling shoulder low then raise up to my anchor point or really grip the bow with holding arm until full draw. I just ordered a stealth archery 12 oz. stabilizer to replace my "what ever the heck I slapped on the first time" stabilizer and hopefully it will level things out. Good luck.

              Bow help

none of my fingers on my left hand is touching the bow and my fingers are pointing straight towards the target. the bow is sitting in my palm. the arrow is going high of the target i am shooting at. my grouping is pretty good, with in 2 inches. but every time i release the arrow, the bow kicks up instead of releasing down. my draw length is a 28 but im shooting a 29. could this factor it?

too much heel in the grip. stop pointing pointing your fingers down range, and relax your hand, so you fingers are holding an egg to the front of the riser. sounds like you are forcing your fingers out and really stiff on the front end. Just relax and let them fly.

YOu can get a longer stabilizer too--accomplish the same thing with less weight. I made an extension for mine out of 1/2" aluminum rod-drilled and tapped on the front end for the stabilizer, and drilled and tapped on the other for the 5/16X18TPI bolt. Bought enough of the 1.2" rod to have a dozen pieces of various lengths as I try to find the right one.

Yes, you're draw length needs to be corrected. 1" too long will cause problems.
