    Help

So my bow is shoting the field tips right on target. When I put on a magnus BH It shots either directly left or left and low. Where do I start to correct this? Never tuned a bow before. Guessing the rest? But not sure and dont want to screw it up.

Changed from a Beman ics 340 to a 400 and now it is shooting straight. Just hits low which is ok cause it is a 125g BH and the FT are 100g. It is about 4 inchs low at 20 yards. Would the weight of the arrow be the cause of this? Or is it more to do with the spine of the arrow because of the heavier BH? Or does the bow need to be tuned. What do yall say?

You need to get with someone who REALLY knows how to tune a bow....

I agree with you Javi, the question is who? I have limited number of friends that even shot a bow. Two actually. And I have archery country and Double G. I think it might have been the spine. Cause the magnus BH seem to be shoting straight on with the different arrow.

the additional weight will cause it to shoot low. match FP weight to BH weight, so when you set your pins, and tune your bow, it is a seamless transition. mixing everything up like that is a sure recipe for disaster Both of the shops you listed should be able to help you out, rather than trying yourself if you dont know, or have never tuned a bow before.

Well you could take a little road trip up to Waco... I'll pm you my cell # It'll take you longer to drive up here than it will to get the bow/arrows tuned.

If you are shooting good with the FP and left with the BH you can start moving the rest to the direction you want the arrow to go. It works great for me when i'm tuning a bow. The best part about it is you wont notice a change in the FP, but it will move the BH. This has to do with more resistance when using a BH.

When I switched to the other arrow it stopped flying crazy and to the left. I think for that size Bh it needed more spine. I have different arrow weights and heads cause I am new and wanted to try a few things. When i got into this i was informed you wanted a heavier arrow and BH for penatration on hogs. Been hunting hogs for a long time and know how tuff they are. The set up was a craigs list deal so it came with everything arrows, BH,case and release. I will mainly be using this with in 25 yards. I have 3 pins. As of now my first pin I set for 20 yards, the next pin down was just there. I happend to notice that the magnus BH was landing right on where the 2nd pin was. So looks like I have first pin for my slick tricks and lighter arrow, and red for the heavy arrow and magnus. Yea it could get confusing. But I like the options to be able to use what ever I feel like trying at this point. See which is going to get the best penetration on a big hog. Well its atleast good for practice right now. Thinking the bow did not need to be tuned just needed a stiffer arrow for that BH. Would yall agree cause it is only shooting low which is corrected by useing the other pin. I have shot a bunch the past day and it seems that was the case. I switch the BH over to the other arrow and it starts going all over again. Put it back and it flys straight.

Javi thanks for the offer. That sure is a long drive. I will keep your number and if I ever get around that area I will give you a ring. Let me in on some tips.

                      Bow tuning

Take it to Paul over at Double G Archery. He can guide you on tuning your bow. Paul is good to work with.
