For my without a doubt got more accurate when I went from .029 to .010 pins. The only problem I've found with the .010 is they were a little hard to see in a popup and/or early and late. Pin light fixed that problem though...
becuase i got a tru glo tru sight xtreme 5 pins .029
and im pretty good but i havent yet to robin hood a arrow and i started to wonder if my pins were a little bit smaller than i might have a better chance of robin hooding one.
I think it gives you a much clearer sight picture and allows you at distances to see more of your target so yes I think it can help tighten your groups but so much depends on the shooter.

yea i can group it not to brag about it but at a tournamnet about 2- 3 weeks a ago i had a quarter group at 50 with three arrow. but next time when i get sights im goin to get smaller pins.
I do not know if it will make you any more accurate but they definantly cover a smaller portion of the target at longer distances.
I am keeping a .029 for the top and .019 for the rest
As far as "robin hooding" an arrow, I did it once and don't care if I ever do it again (unless I am shooting at my buddy's nocks ), arrows too expensive to be tearing up on purpose
