    My name's John and I'm a perfectionist...

I have been fletching my own arrows since I first got into archery, this year I have changed things up and decided to try using wraps(from Cameron of course) so that I could see my arrow better when filming my hunts, and I also hate trying to strip all the old glue off my shafts when re-fletching.

I am having a fit trying to figure out how much glue to use, previously (pre-wrap) I had it figured out and never had a problem. But, with the wraps I just can't seem to get it right and of course they have to look perfect or it just frustrates me to death.

What do y'all do to get rid of the excess glue that oozes out from the edges of the fletch?

Either a paper towel, old rag or Q-tip works for me.

I use FOB's, so no glue! Perfect every time.

As soon as I get the clamp set (Bitz) and make sure the the vane is seated properly on the shaft, I run a Q-tip down both sides to remove excess. I also use Loctite Super Glue Gell which dries pretty clear.

I think you may be using too much. There should be little to none. If some is there,I just run my finger down the edge. I use a gel and it is not dry when i take it out of the clamps.

Exactly. Make sure the hole in your applicator is small and run a fine line of glue quickly down the middle of the vane. That should do it!

The Q-tip did the trick, simple but effective.
