Confirm my analysis of my arrow spine issues

I recently got back in to archery and purchased a Drenelin LD - 30" draw at 70#. I've got it set about 62# right now and I am shooting some Easton Excel 400's at 29 inches with 100 gr fp's and 100 gr Slick Trick Mags. I can't seem to get it to tune up right. When I turned up the poundage the bow shoots worse past 20 yards.

The bow was purchased turn key from a reputable local shop but I am beginning to suspect that the 400 spine is too weak for my setup. The shop setup the Trophy Taker Pronghorn rest really close to the riser - less that .5 inch from the center of the arrow to the riser and barely clears the broadhead. The position of the rest points the arrow to the right quite a bit and I read that the normal starting distance on Matthews bows is 13/16 to 11/16. The sight is also set way to the right, I can't see the whole ring in my peep.

The bow shoots tight groups at 20 yards but I can't get it to shoot on center past 20 yards and my arrows are canted in the target nock to the right. I have tried several times to walk back tune this thing but have had no success with that, now the rest is back to the position that the shop set it in and I am still shooting off center at 30 and 40 yards.

So my conclusion and research is that my arrows are too weak for their length.

Next what spine should I be shooting? My research points to 340's but I also read that a lot of people like a stiffer spine.

Any input would be welcome and I am going to try to get to the local shop this week and discuss it with them.

Shows in the easton arrow chart that you should be shooting a 340. You may want to look at the center shot also. When you walk back tuned did you do any adjusting of the arrow rest?

Move arrow rest to 11/16 to center of shaft, then shoot the .400 spine arrow. If still having problems, go to a .340 spine.
I think the .400 at that length is weak, but just getting center-shot closer to right will help.

I moved the rest to 11/16 and walked back from there and ended up back at the original rest position that I had marked before starting. At 11/16 I was off 6-8 inches at 30 yards after I sighted in at 20.

Check cam or idler wheel lean while at full draw, might also be a problem.

            This needs to be checked.

I placed an arrow on the shelf side of the idler wheel. The string looks straight to me. I can't really check it at full draw right now.

I got the little lady out of bed to look at the idler at full draw. She seems to think the string is coming off the wheel to the left.

Well I guess its off the the pro shop tomorrow and see where that gets me.

                Thanks for the help.
