    Mathews rest need help

I like this rest but it makes too much noise when I draw back. My arrows rub and it sounds like metal rubbing on metal. I shoot carbon and the rest has little rubber/something that covers the metal.
I would rather not buy or exchange. Any advice on how to quite the rests' forks?

This is a link to the rest.

I have heard of putting on a layer of your wife's clear nail polish on the forks. Not sure if it works our not, but it'd be worth a shot, and easy to clean off if it didn't work. Had a friend that would do this with his rest, and seemed to work fine. It would last several shots practicing, then when he was finished he would slap some more on and let it dry before the next day/practice session.

Perhaps some "Vanity Red" polish would work better than clear? LOL

Try the fuzzy rest implants that slip over the forks. They are cheap and work great.

I used that mole skin wrap on my rest... worked great.

You can also use heat shrink tubing. I did it on my HD Convertable and it stopped the noise.

Look for Dr. Scholls mole skin at Wal Mart in the Foot Care dept.

You can find the camoflage mole skin at Cabelas I have it on the forks of my Ripcord and it works great. Silent. I also put it on the horizontal shelf in front of the rest so it does not make a slapping sound when releasing an arrow.

                    Scotch tape works wonders.

Something else that will work on the forks is the electrical heat wrap. I think you can get an an auto store, cut off what you need slide over the forks and it will shrink as you heat, replace when needed.
