    monster 7

waiting on my monster 7. just sold my last years monster and am sure hoping i get a smoother draw. i figure it will be a little slower but that drop into the valley was rough for me. my old one had 60 lb limbs and i was shooting at 62lbs. i got 70lb limbs on this one and hope i can make up for the loss with a little more draw weight. i have a 28 inch draw and shoot a 350gr arrow. whatcha think???

The arrow sounds weak for that cam and 70 lbs.

You need 5 grains per pound, so 350@70 should be ok. I think 340's would be ok,if you have to go with 300's there goes your speed.

A new bow should deserve a test with a bare shaft through paper to make sure the spine is right.

              Well...

I just got my M7...after shooting an M6.7, I'm REALLY disappointed with the speed...I got 65% mods to offset the higher BH, but it didn't seem to help...als, the factory strings suck...they were served the wrong way, and my peep issues have been really annoying...all in all, I'm out alot of money, and I'm totally NOT satisfied.

350 grain arrow is fine as long as your spine is 340 or stiffer.

What are you shooting? What lbs, draw and how much do your arrows weigh?
                  What speed are you getting?

I have 60 pound limbs (maxed out @ 63) shooting a 360 gr arrow GT 5575 with 100 gr tips, and 2"Blazers...27" draw, and I'm getting 274 fps out of it. The M6.7 was at 54 lbs, 26" draw same arrow and I got 284fps...big difference.

well thats not too encouraging. How about the draw difference. maybe not much difference since you increased the draw weight by 9 lbs. I was sure hoping for a smoother draw into the valley.

i have a monster 6.0 70lb draw 29in draw im shooting 350 maximas im at 330fps and some of my shooting buddys are real close to that but if i remeber correctly mathews rates the 6.0 faster than the 7.0 the 8xlr is rated a hair faster.

if you want a smoother draw out of monster 6.0 then have the mods changed to 7.0 mods will draw like a single cam.We did this in austin at Archery country boy what a diffrence

If you want a smooth draw don't get the monster you better off getting a Z7 the monster is very rigid if you want that speed and smoothness get a z7
