    Restringing a bow

When is it time to restring a bow, Bowtech in their factory manual says every 2500 shots, well..........................
Recently i noticed , that my peep sight isn't aligning with my viewing angle, which is a new thing, now i have to go and turn the peep sight by hand, of course after i released the bow to be able to see trough it.
Does anyone think, a restring is going to fix this, or should i just buy a z7?

You can have the peep reinstalled at a bow shop and make it straight again. A premium aftermarket string will prevent peep rotation since it's prestretched. Winners Choice is one brand but there are others too.

I'd say replace you string every 2 years as preventative maintenance or if the serving starts separating. A pro shop should be able to tell you if it's time and install a new one.

I had a string break and the bow explode when shooting it years ago and it was not fun.

Every 2500 shots seems a bit excessive, doesn't it? I have shot that many in the past 6 weeks. I'm going to Archery Country in a few minutes. I'll ask Luckie what he thinks.

As a rule I change mine every two years. If I see serving separation, excessive string wear, or broken strands I change immediately.

I asked Mike at Archery Country about this. I've had mine since January and have made thousands of shots with it. He said it's in great shape. But then again, I pay close attention to it and wax it every couple hundred shots or even a little more often.
