Okay guys, here's the deal...I traded for a Diamond Black Ice about a year ago and I love it. When I got it, it had replacement strings on it, not sure of brand though, looked brand new and the previous owner said they only had a couple hundred shots on them. Anyway, I had to put a new module on it to get the draw length set right, and shot away with it. Well, a few months ago, I put it on the draw weight scale and it's maxed out at 63 lbs, but has 70 lb limbs. I know 63 is plenty, but I want the bow to be "right" not just good enough. Do you think string stretch, or a module change could be causing this? I'm considering a trip to Double G Archery tomorrow or the next day to get it looked at, but don't have a lot of money to spend to get it fixed. If it is string stretch, do you think adding twists could squeeze those missing 7 lbs back into it?

I don't know if brace and ATA match, I'll have to check that tomorrow. I'm really only asking to see if you guys thought string stretch could have caused this. Can't afford any costly parts/repairs, but if it's just a matter of adding a few twists to the string/cable, then I'll head down there in the morning.

Well, Mike at Double G hooked me up, to a point. He tightened the buss cable, and something else, not sure what else he did. He couldn't get it back to 70 lbs, but he got it up to about 68. I thought it was 63, but it was actually about 61.5 today when he tested it! So, he got 6.5-7 lbs back by twisting the cable a little. I'm about due for a new set of strings anyway, so that will be my next purchase, but I have another hunt or two to get done before I go changing everything out. I'm happy, spent about an hour getting everything sighted back in. Got the 20 yard pin dead on, but the 20 and 30 pins are now touching (in the sight housing, not the actual pin tips) and the 30 is still just a tad high. I would shoot one pin out to 30, but using the 20 pin on 30 yards puts the arrow a touch too low for my liking, and the 30 pin puts it a touch too high for my liking at 20. Oh well, I'm happy with those results until I can get a new set of strings put on.

or get an extended sight, the extra distance will allow you to spread your pins out a little.

I was going to say your string/cable had stretched. Playing with drawlength will do that too, the shop somehow got me 28" on my 29" 70 bow, and it now max's out at around 62, but it shoots well and that's OK with me and my shoulders now.
