    Limb Degradation Over Time

I have a 2003 LX that is supposed to max out at 70#. I took it to the pro shop yesterday and had it checked out. Even though it is maxed out (cranked all the way down), it is only pulling 64#. First thought was string stretch, however, the bow is in time.

Anyone ever experience decreased limb performance over time.

Did they measure A to A just to be sure?

I seriously doubt the limbs are getting weak or soft. It's the string/cable length I'll bet. We shortened up the draw length 29" to 28" on my 70# PSE with the string length (I added a string loop and removed the wooden handle to narrow the grip and I needed to take an inch off), and maxed out the bow is now around 63#. It's OK with me, still smacks animals hard.

OKTX, no, they did not measure. I really did not press the issue, but it probably would have been a dood idea.

Bill, I, like you, have no problems shooting the lighter weitht. I was just curious. I think part of me is also trying to justify a new ride!

Your limbs are toast and unsafe to continue shooting.

Now, go get a new bow!

I just googled 2003 LX and there have been hundreds of cases of the bow limbs exploding and injuring the shooter, family members and innocent bystanders. 1/2 have not been able to work again and are poor and destitute and the other 1/2 never shot a bow again.

You definitely need to trade it in for a new bow this weekend.

YOU DON'T WANT TO INJURE YOUR CHILD (or insert other family member if not married or have not children) DO YOU!!!!

You NEED a new bow if you don't want to injure you child....other wise you just hate children....don't be an evil man get a new bow.

                    Will that work for you?

^ This is hilarious! Only a true sportsman would understand the humor in wishing for man-love marraige to justify spending more $$ on a new bow!!! LOL!!!

simek- what concerns me is your avatar. None of us can tell for certain that you DO in fact have clothes on below the picture! Not wearing clothes is ok. And wishing to be married to a man is ok. But wishing to be married to a man while you're not wearing clothes is not ok. After all, this is a family friendly board.

LOL, just giving you a hard time. Let us know if you end up with a new rig- maybe I can borrow your excuse too!!!

This is awesome, just think of how much you can stimulate the ecomony buy purchasing a new bow! And beside, you can always donate your bow (unless you hate children and your bow will explode ) to Goodwill and get write off on your taxes. PULL THE TRIGGER! C'MON everyones doing it!

Show your support to the owner of the pro shop, he needs to feed his family, he has 2 sons and one daughter and they always want something to eat. Send money/will send bow! lol
