Want the best of both worlds, or possibly the best, might want to look at the new Phathead SOB's from Steelforce. Fixed blade COC head with 2 swing out blades (SOB mechanical blades) that give it an 1.5" cut. This head cannot fail as it is a COC head without the blades deploying. Look up the video where the head was shot thru a steel barrel 15 times without breaking anything. I will be trying these along with the new Tekan T3 and the Ramcat from Smoke BH's. Accuracy and penetrations test when the heads get here.

I shoot Grim Reapers and am really really impressed with them. worry about a mech failure but I love the really really big holes they put in stuff. no o rings, really simple design. not sure what could "fail." when you think about it a lot of fails can happen - your bow, your rest, your release, your string. we just try to minimize all of that as much as we can. but I don't know anybody who shoots fingers because "a release can fail" or who shoots a WB because a "drop away can fail."
go look at their website and you'll see their videos - monster penetration and deep impact. crazy great bh.

I switched to a mechanical 2 blade Rage last season and when i would practice with them I had to change the o ring everytime as I pulled my arrow out of my Mckenzie ShotBlocker. The T3 should be alot better without the o ring crap. Your Slick Tricks are pretty much a no fail broadhead as a fixed one and strong too.
I'm curious. What do some of you Rage shooters do as you practice with the broadhead not the crappy practice head?
