    Mathews Bows

I have been a bow hunter for only 3 years. I started with a used 2005 Switchback. This is still my bow of choice. I have been reading about the Z7 and plan to shoot one soon. I have read the threads about other top bows comparing to the Z7. I know that you should shoot the bow that fits you. My question, I was just on the Mathews site, reading about all the competition wins by Mathews. Are there way more Mathews pros than other bow brand pros, or do you think there is some truth in their advertising? More wins by Mathews than all other bows combined...and not even close. Curios what you think.

I think they make a good bow, but if you have a lot of people shooting Mathews, then the probablity of someone winning with a Mathews has increased.

I shoot a Mathews, but I think they have more wins because they sponsor most of the top shooters who can win with almost any bow.

The more bows you put in the hands of the competition shooter the more wins you will have.

Flood the field with your product and it's bound to stand out. I shoot a Mathews Drenalin and love it.

HA, I'm still shooting my ole 00' Z-Light. Yeah, it's about time to buy one of the new ones, but I feel like I'm shooting a classic. Mathews is a dam good bow company.

Mathews builds an awesome bow, I shot them for years. I am shooting a Bow Tech now and really like it.
As stated above, Mathews just has A LOT of great shooters shooting their product. But those guys can shoot any brand of bow.
Just like motocross champs, they can win on a Honda or a Yamaha.

Actually it is the contingency money that Mathews pays that draws the shooters. They pay like 10 times more than any other bow mfgr. out there even to the amateur shooter, so why wouldnt any one shoot one? When winning a big tournament like the ASA classic pays $1200 form the tournament and $30K from Mathews the heck yes they will shoot it!! And Hoyt pays $2200 for winning the same tournament shooting any Hoyt bow, then it just makes sense. Every top bow manufacturer makes a top shelf product that can be shot very well by the average shooter. If the dont, they will not stick around very long in this industry. There are fans of every bow maker out there, and an opinion about them from every shooter too.

Gerald, I am on my second Mathews. I crossed over from Bear a few years ago. I purchased a Drenalin and shot if for a few years. Fantastic bow. Then I injured my draw shoulder this past November. I decided to give up the 70 lbs Dren and another member here is now enjoying it. I decided to drop the poundage and let Mathews twin cam technology make up for the pull drop. I purchased a Mathews monster at 60 pounds and now shoot the same weight arrow 25 fps faster at 60 pounds as I did at 70 pounds with the Dren. My point is don’t forget to check out Mathews twin cam bows while you are out looking. As far as quality I find it hard to beat Mathews and their warranty to the first owner is top shelf.

Nothing wrong with the bow, nor the company, but if you really want to see numbers do a percentage and they will be at the bottom. But they have more shooters as others have stated. PSE has the highest percentage of wins. At one time Pearson held the throne! Some of the companies make a great bow but no one shoots them. I had a Parker last year and one every 3D shoot my club had. Just remember its the shooter not the bow that wins.

Wont comment on the bow, but like stated above "the more shooters you have the more wins are possible. That said..... we started our 3-D range last year and are on our second shoot this year (march 20th) and of the 7 shoots so far and the 6 possible classes for a compound bow we have had 3 mathews PLACE when there were more than 3 shooters in the class. and the ONLY thing this proves is we have fewer Mathews shooters and some dang fine "other" bow shooters.
                            Last shoot:
                            open-BowTech
                            MBO- Athens Archery
                            Womens open-Mathews
Womens- (not sure but I think Mathews)
                            Bowhunter-BowTech
                            Youth-PSE

Anyone can win on any given day
