Refinish Wood Stock AKM

Years ago I had the opportunity to purchase this Romanian SAR 1 AKM for a great price and grabbed it. I'm not sure what was done to the wood on it but looked like it was painted. I decided to try and strip it and refinish it. Had never done anything like this but figured I couldn't make it look any worse.

After stripping it and refinishing it using some stain and wipe on poly this was the final outcome. Some before and after pics.

That's a whole lot sweeter looking than it was prior to your efforts. Fist look was like, ehh......but the refinished was like, WOW!
