Brake Rotor

I was brought a car to change the pads for a relative because it was making noise. I ain't never seen one this bad. When I was hammering off the rotor, the core broke away from it. Absolutely no rotor wall on the outside. So yeah, it made it past the brake pad squealer. I should have taken it to the part store and asked if it could be turned. [emoji38] [emoji848]

Everything else was good. I figured it would have gotten into the caliper piston, but it was fine.

Others were fine. I heard she had bought it from a used car lot not too long ago. I don't think they went through it or they would have caught that. I know they had to hear it. She hasn't had it long enough to get that far into it.

I would have replaced that caliper just because.

I figured I was gonna need to before I even got to it. It was perfectly fine. Went back in easy and the boot seal was still perfect. I thought it was gonna be a locked piston. It releases like it should after I got it all back together. No marks on it either. It still had some brake pad on the piston side.
