My 16 year old wanted a small trailer to haul his quad around. Driving it up ramps into the back of his 2” lifted 2500 gave me serious anxiety. He has a job and came up with a budget for the build. With the prices of steel we decided to keep an eye out for a refurbish project so we could build it how we wanted and have a father-son project. Found this old kayak trailer that came from a summer camp that shut down. Took 15 hours with the both of us working but began Friday night and had her painted last night around 9pm.
We still need to mount the lights, run the wiring, mount the safety chains, and clean and paint the wheels but was a successful weekend! Finished at a 6’x4’ bed.
