Frig freezing food in lower half

    Any appliance repair TBHers

Have a frig at ranch (upright) where lower compartment is freezing items. Replaced thermostat in frig, but not the one in freezer. Getting ready to replace that one next and hope it is not the control panel.

Question, is the thermostat in freezer the one that controls temp in refrigerator compartment

    Thanks

Flapper door between the freezer and fridge may be frozen up or out.

The area between the fridge and the freezer must be blocked somehow. Could be blocked with ice

The blend door is controlled by a sensor on the frig side usually near the blend door. It also could be the blend door itself. Go to repair clinic and put in the model number and troubleshoot it

We have a whirlpool bottom freezer that had a plugged defrost/condensation tube, it is a known design failure now they put a p trap in them.

I had one do the same not too long ago. Didn’t think it was cooling quite right and turned temp down a bit. Come to find out it was the fan. The fan wasn’t blowing the cool air throughout and freezing some of the items directly in front.
