I posted this in the classifieds for sale---But I just like showing off what my guys are doing in the shop!!
What we have is a 6'x6' box blind. Inside the height is roughly 77" in the back and 79" in the front. The skeleton is made from 16 gauge 1" square tubing. On the bottom corners we put 4" square tubing with a couple of holes that will accept a 4x4 piece of lumber for elevation purposes.
The skin is 26 gauge sheet metal with the camouflage painted on by the factory.
The next step we took was we insulated it with 1" thick foam insulation between every void in the frame.
Next we took the same 26 gauge sheet metal in the color "fern green" and lined the inside and the ceiling with sheet metal. Anywhere the 2 pieces of sheet metal met we put a piece of interior trim to make it look nice.
The floor we put down 23/32" plywood and screwed it to the metal from underneath to secure it down.
The windows we got from Elusive Wildlife. The windows are the 36" wide and 10" tall. We put 1 on each side for rifle windows, we then put one in the front vertical for a bow window (yes we listened to constructive criticism! The 2 rifle windows open up, the bow window can be flipped to open either direction.
There is a continuous shelf that goes around the whole inside of the blind. It sticks out from the wall 6". Yes the wood is underneath, looks kind of weird but keeps things from rolling off the shelf.
The door is 6' tall and 30" wide. Big enough this fat teacher can get in and out easily!!
The proud new owner would need to provide 4x4 post to elevate to your liking, steps to get in, and carpet to make it quite on the inside.
Thanks!
***it really looks good when the pictures aren't sideways!!****
