                  That’s awesome. The fire pit at our ranch , is a 36” tractor rim, it’s been awesome.

                      At the last least I was on we had a couple of them. One of them had a square box with a door welded on it to feed wood into it and we also had a lid so we could smoke on it.

                                This one does have an air vent of sorts -- a short section of 3" pipe slipped under the bottom rim, although I didn't capture that in any of the pictures. I don't really notice any difference though in the quality of the fire when the vent gets covered in ashes over time. I think the 4' diameter is large enough to allow enough air circulation normally. I suppose if one needed a hotter fire more air vents would help, but then wood would burn up quicker.
