Every cost of oil is starting to bring out more and more figuring.
Cool thing about auqafortis is it’ll gradually get darker over time.



Had to file down the screws do the rod would fit down in those brass rod guides.

Last thing to do is pin the barrel and it’ll be ready to test fire!

What does the wax do for the barrel? I did 2 TC Hawkens back in the early 80's and did not wax them. They still look good today. I did use Birchwood Casey's Plum brown that required heating the barrel and wiping on while hot.

The wax is a preservative
Same as oil
Just an old school way of doing it.
