    Traditions Flintlock rifle build

I’ve been wanting one of these and asking for one since I was 10.

36 years later and i have a cool father son project to work on!!! Sooo pumped!!

    Started dry fitting it.
Learning experience. Some in letting and fitting issues. Time to go get some files.

Want to finish it for next season and go teach the lad how to really hunt....not sit in a box and wait (and i love that just as much as the rest).

Take your time and have fun. I built several over the years.

What did you use to blue the barrel?

I built 2 TC Hawken's and I browned the unfinihed parts. It is more traditional. You can buy a bottle of Plum Brown at a gun shop. Follow the directions on it.

                Sweet!
I definitely want to keep it period.

I’ve found some Lancaster county style patch boxes that I’m looking at as well.

I had a lot of fun building mine, I browned all the metal, antique the brass and finish the wood with aquafortis.
