Anvil Base

My dad gave me the anvil he picked up at a garage sale I think.

Cut an 8' 6"x6" into four pieces
Welded angle for the bottom hoop
1" flat bar for the top hoop
Router'ed out a hollow for the anvil to sit in.
About $30 in materials.

That will work. I've been looking for one for a while. If you can find one they usually want a arm and leg for them nowadays.

On second thought, likely wouldn’t work on pressure treated lumber.

Same as mine. 22" in diameter and weighed about 300lb. green. I'll bet it still weighs 250 or so.
The only way I can move it is with a 2 wheel dolly.

I have used anvils a lot with horsehoeing and blacksmithing if you’re going to be swinging that hammer a lot wrap a chain around the neck of that anvil and drive some angle iron in the wood on the corners to make sure it doesn’t pop out of that recess
